Wine Tour Bordeaux - S'initier aux secrets du vinDiscover the many riches of this region...

With the Gallo-Roman city of Saintes and the romanesque Saintonge with its Abbey aux Dames and the Church of St. Eutropius, both Unesco Heritage sites, Cognac is an historic ground. This "Land of Beauty" is famous for the Cognac vineyards and also for being the birthplace of François I.

Cognac also boasts the well named “Eau de Vie” (water of life). With this, the evaporation of alcohol, known as "the angels share", feeds a fungus that blackens the white stone. Here, stand the imposing 19th century hotels built by the great Cognac merchant houses. Further away, local wineries invite you to discover the history and secrets of the amber alcohol and 1001 ways to enjoy and savour it.

When the scents and aromas of Cognac meet the culinary arts, gastronomy is adorned with new sensations. Whatever the dish being prepared is, a hint of Cognac always brings that extra something that transforms the simply excellent into the beautifully sublime.

But what would the Cognac region be without the Charente? The calm river that leads to the Atlantic Ocean. It's easy to pamper yourself in the region of Cognac whether enjoying the pleasures of fresh water activities on the banks of the Charente, spa waters from subterranean sources or the marine pleasures of La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré (Isle of Ré).

This dynamic "Land of Beauty" is also at the heart of major sporting, cultural and musical events: The Grand Pavois in La Rochelle, the Detective Film Festival, the Cognac Blues Passion festival and the famous Angouleme comic and graphic novel festival.

Cognac is both a magic product and an amazing world to explore.
