What is up in Champagne this coming winter?

This week the Wine Tour in France team invites you to discover the Champagne region.
Good wines, truffle markets, jazz festival, WWI 100 years’ anniversary … we found for you some good reasons to spend some time in Champagne this winter.


Following this week’s Independent Winegrowers’ wine exhibition, several other interesting events are planned:

Reims Jazz Festival

Major rendezvous for jazz lovers, this event will take place from the 13th to the 19th of November. With the venue of some famous artists such as John Abercrombie and some young talents from France and abroad, this festival is full of promises and surprises.



Franco-German Art (1910-1925) Exposition


Get a brand new look on the First World War from this artistic perspective. Located in Reims, the Museum of Fine Arts collaborates with the Von der Heydt Museum of Wuppertal to compare German and French works from this period. This exhibition also relativizes clichés well anchored in cultures of both nations.



Bleu-Brut: The Experience Pommery #12


The Experience Pommery #12 celebrates from the 3rd October till the 30th of June 2015 the spirit of Pommery – a freedom of expression and action started by Madame Pommery in the mid-19th century which remains today. For the 140th anniversary of the Brut Champagne’s creation, Pommery invites you to discover the core elements of champagne as seen by this extraordinary woman.



“Colors of Dream” on the Reims’ Cathedral

To mark its 8th centenary, the cathedral is put on in the spot-light with spectacular illuminations on its façade. The statuary will regain its original colors and finest details, and thanks to new video-projection technology, you will be living history through a breathtaking show. (From November 21st till December 24th on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays)



Skating Ring

Don’t forget your hat and gloves! Slithering lovers will love this 400 m2 of ice on the Colbert square in Reims. Plus, the access and skates lending are free of charge. The ice ring will welcome sliders from the 21st of November until the 5th of January 2015.



WWI 100 years anniversary

In the heart of the conflict zone during WWI, Reims is a city profoundly affected by the Great War. Thus, this year is the perfect opportunity to visit for Remembrance Tourism in France. Plus, from this autumn a sound-and-light show will take place on the Hôtel de ville façade. Picturing Reims’ role in history from 1914 to 1962 in a dynamic and multicolored show screened on the evenings.
