With September, the grape harvest is rapidly approaching. In wineries, preparations are underway for picking the grapes. So, when visiting the Bordeaux area, do not miss stopping at one of its picturesque restaurants in the heart of vineyards.

Today, Wine Tour In France wishes to introduce you one of its’ 2014 season discoveries: Le Logis de la Cadène.

Recently acquired by the prestigious Chateau Angelus and managed by a new team, le Logis de la Cadène offers its new Menu and its freshly renovated terrace.

Meet the head of the restaurant Christophe Gaudino, well-known by locals, who will welcome you with his smile and usual conviviality. In the kitchen, the new chef Alexandre Baumard exerts his culinary talent which he learnt in several famous chefs’ kitchens.

Reinterpreted traditional menus

Le Logis de la Cadène is a French brasserie style restaurant where we found a fusion of the mouth-watering taste of traditional food coupled with the exciting new techniques of its chef.

To give you a glimpse of specialties on the menu, we selected the following dishes:

To start:

    • Foie gras of squeezed smoked eels, with thin apple Granny Smith jelly,
    • 2 variations of Scallops, Carpaccio and snacked, with mango and passion fruit sauce,
    • Black truffles risotto linked with parmesan-cheese.

To follow:

    • Sea bass fried in hazelnut oil, “Pigna” coco stew, tomato aroma,
    • Black Angus marbled with parsley and seized in hazelnut butter, fried potatoes and new white onions,
    • Sweetbread, just roasted nuts, reduced juice with garlic and thyme, pan fried mushrooms.

To finish softly:

    • Traditional soufflé with “Cointreau”, along with a blood orange sorbet,
    • Lemon pie reinterpreted, together with a lime sorbet,
    • Chocolate puck, with caramel flowing heart and peanuts and Caramélia ice-cream.

Open from Monday to Saturday, Le Logis de la Cadène will close its doors in November for renovations. We look forward its’ reopening in March 2015, adding 4 guests’ bedrooms to this familial house.
