Discover 10 amazing Chateaux of the Loire Valley

We recently carried out a wonderful tour exploring some of the best wines of the Loire Valley region. Here are some of the gems:

Château de l'Oiselinière



In Oiselinière, the grape is cultivated since time immemorial. The vines are planted on ridges and plateaus overlooking the right bank of the Sevre Nantes, and produce very ripe and very concentrated grapes. The combination gives unique character to the Oiselinière wines:aromatic, rich and long on the palate, with the necessary structure to keep for years.


Château Soucherie




Château Soucherie is a historic 28 hectare wine estate producing Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) wines: Anjou, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon and Chaume. Set amongst vineyards with a unique view of the Layon Valley, it is a magical spot where you will love to linger and explore. With expertise and care, the Chateau's team puts its heart into producing the finest wines, managing to express the richness of its different soils.


Château des Vaults - Domaine du Closel



A historic castle along the Loire, a famous vineyard for the quality of its wines and a warm welcome by its epicurean owners make this a memorable discovery. You can explore the surrounding area of ​​Closel in Savennières which is full of fantastic trails that allow you to discover the incredible ecosystem.


Château Targé




Between 2000 and 2009, Castle Targé received a remarkable 39 Medals for its production, as well as numerous mentions in various guides, including the Guide Hachette, Dussert Gerber Gilbert & Gaillard, Lonely Planet.

A quality of this region is its high capacity to store solar heat during the day to return at night.


Château de Parnay




The Chateau is located in Turquant near Saumur in Saumur-Champigny appellation. Explore and discover the secrets of the famous vineyards- like its most coveted treasure: the stone walls- which are classed as historical monuments. These parallel walls were built by Antoine Cristal and allow the foot of the vines to face the fresher North, and the grapes themselves to face full Southern sunshine.


Château de la Grille Chinon




Le Château de la Grille has a fascinating and long history dating back to the 15th Century. In 2009, it linked its destiny with Baudry-DUTOUR in order to preserve its tradition and terroir... and always guarantee highest quality wines. It has been awarded the title of Cellar Excellence by the Inter-Loire Wines.


Château Gaudrelle



Château Gaudrelle is located in the heart of the stunning Loire Valley, between Tours and Amboise, on the right bank of the “royal river”. Established in 1931 by the grandfather of its current owner, Alexandre Monmousseau, this domain has made a name for itself thanks to the richness of the local terroir and their careful attention to the creation of Vouvray, Dry, Dry and Delicate, Mellow and Sparkling wines.



Château Moncontour



Beautiful Château Moncontour stands on a hillside in the heart of the Vouvray. The site offers a remarkable view of the entire Loire Valley. Since 1994, with passion and commitment, the Feray family has preserved and maintained the castle as one of the remarkable historical sites of the Loire Valley. The vineyard, one of the oldest in Touraine, is now ranked among the most prestigious Loire Valley wines.

Domaine Henri Bourgeois (Sancerre)



The vineyard is a patchwork of more than 120 mini plots planted on all types of soils encountered in the most beautiful hills of Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé. This diversity inspires the development of various wines from a specific origin plot.


Domaine Alphonse Mellot




The wines are produced in the high vineyards of Sancerre- the most famous, Domaine de la Moussière. Its outstanding quality has earned it the prestigious mention "standout"-the only one in Sancerre to have received this honour.
